Polarcus is a pure play marine geophysical company with a pioneering environmental agenda, specializing in high-end towed streamer data acquisition from pole to pole. Polarcus is bringing to market an ultra-modern fleet of initially 4 advanced seismic vessels designed by Norway’s Ulstein Design AS incorporating the innovative ULSTEIN X-BOW® hull. The vessels are being built in Dubai, UAE, by Drydocks World - Dubai LLC. The first vessel, Polarcus Nadia, was delivered in December 2009 and thereafter mobilized for her first contract offshore West Africa.

We are offering 3D and 4D seismic acquisition services, including multi-client projects, to the global oil & gas industry. Our fleet will also have available new build source vessels of the same ULSTEIN X-BOW® hull design, enabling us to offer advanced high end 3D services such as wide and multi-azimuth surveys to our clients that combine the latest maritime systems with the best seismic technologies commercially available in the industry.

The company’s services are employed by the oil & gas industry to generate high-resolution images of the subsurface that are used by geoscientists to explore for new hydrocarbon reserves, and to improve their understanding of existing reserves, reservoir structure and production characteristics with the aim of improving production and qualifying reserves in place.
