Behavior Based Safety
Polarcus and MRM (Maritime Resource Management).
Polarcus has recently signed an MRM training agreement with The Swedish Club to commence a Behavior Based Safety approach to our organization. We have gathered highly experienced people from the geophysical and maritime industry and our first priority is to formulate a Polarcus company culture - onboard and ashore.
What do we want to achieve?
Besides the obvious goals of safer operations and a reduced number of incidents, MRM training aims to develop the skills and knowledge of Polarcus' personnel and to enhance their professional standards. By introducing advanced leadership and human factors training, we believe we become increasingly attractive amongst the people we want to see joining our company.
What about results?
With a number of different tools such as trainees’ evaluation of the effectiveness, attitude change measurements, behavior change operations and subjective incident reports, the efficiency of resource management training has been proven. Shipping companies that have successfully implemented resource management practices, onboard and ashore, have realized dramatic reductions in the frequency of incidents.
