Working in Dubai
Dubai, one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates, is probably the most moderate of Middle Eastern cities and boasts a harmonious and multi-national resident population. The city is ultra-modern with a very low crime rate and has a constant and exciting buzz about it. There is still extensive development ongoing in some parts of the city, but that is a reflection of the rapid pace of growth as Dubai positions itself as a modern, cosmopolitan metropolis.
The United Arab Emirates does not apply any income tax on earnings making the country very attractive for expatriates. The expatriate community today accounts for over 80% of the population and so the supporting infrastructure such as schools, clubs, and associations are well established for many different nationalities. The country also boasts excellent connections with other major oil and gas centers globally, with direct flights to Beijing, Houston, Kuala Lumpur, London, Sao Paulo, Singapore, and Perth, as well as many other cities around the world.
